What is the optimal ratio of workstations to employees in an office space?

Asked 2 years ago

Hi there. What's the ideal ratio of workstations to employees that I should aim for? I want to make sure that everyone has a comfortable and productive workspace, but I don't want to overdo it and waste space. Can anyone provide some insights or recommendations on this? Thanks in advance!

It depends on your desired office layout (whether you're putting up cubicles or opening up your workspace). However, the average employee workstation generally is around 200 square feet per person.

For open workstations, spaces can be much smaller at around 60 to 110 square feet per person since you won't need to put up walls. Conference rooms should ideally allocate 15 square feet per person in a theater-style layout and 25 to 30 square feet in a conference seating layout.
