What are the benefits of an agile workspace?

A friend of mine owns an insurance company that has implemented an agile workspace environment. According to him, this benefits employees because it gives them personal space. I would like to use this in my company as well, but does an agile workspace have any other benefits? Has anyone implemented an agile workspace environment and found it to be beneficial?
