How can we ensure that hot desking doesn't negatively impact employee morale?

My company recently implemented a hot desking policy to make better use of office space and reduce costs. While I understand the benefits of this approach, I'm concerned that it could have a negative impact on employee morale. Some people prefer having a designated workspace, and not having one could make them feel unimportant or undervalued. Also, the added stress of finding a workspace each day could be overwhelming and distracting. Have any of you dealt with this issue before and have any tips? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Before you start implementing hot desking, it's important to communicate the reasoning behind your plan to your employees clearly and to provide employees with the necessary support to adapt to the new system. For example, this could include setting clear expectations for desk availability, creating designated areas for work, providing comfortable seating, and ensuring that there are enough power outlets or other amenities. Additionally, giving employees the option to reserve desks in advance or providing them with lockers to store their personal items can help ease the transition. Lastly, consider regularly checking in with employees and soliciting feedback can help to identify and address any issues that arise. This will ensure that everyone feels valued and supported.
