What are the benefits of using a desk occupancy sensor?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi there. A friend of mine has told me about desk occupancy sensors and how the sensors gather data that can be used for insights about working patterns among employees. However, I don't understand what benefits come with gathering this data. Has anyone used desk occupancy sensors before and found them to be beneficial? In what way?

The data gathered from desk occupancy sensors will help you to use your office space more effectively, because it's real-time and objective. The sensors tell you how many employees are sitting down at a desk at any moment. By analyzing this data, you'll start finding usage patterns, e.g., some desks in certain areas may be used more frequently than others. You can investigate why and then either optimize popular spaces to meet demand or remove/change disused spaces. This will help you save costs instead of investing in spaces, furniture, and equipment that aren't used.
