What metrics are replacing traditional measures for space usage in hybrid working?
Asked 2 years ago
Hello! I'm on the hunt for new ways to measure space utilization for our newly implemented hybrid working model. Our team is now a mix of in-office and remote workers, and the old metrics we used to track space usage just don't cut it anymore. Got any suggestions for me? Thanks!

In the modern workplace, the traditional metrics for measuring space utilization no longer apply when considering hybrid work, so it's beneficial to develop new methods - i.e. ones that are better suited for this kind of work. You could start by measuring the amount of time employees spend in the office in comparison to working remotely.
An easy way to do this is to conduct a survey that will help you determine the percentage of time spent in the office. It's also beneficial to track usage data, like how much a certain piece of equipment is being utilized by staff members. Having the data precisely calculated will not only provide greater insight into space usage, but also improve employee satisfaction.
