Which workplace seating arrangement is best for a hybrid-based office?
Asked 2 years ago
Hey, I am the office administrator for a data firm. Due to the nature of our work, we have a lot of employees that are hybrid. Therefore, there are often times where there are over half the employees in an office working from home. How to I adjust the seating arrangement in an office like this to reduce the space between employees that are in the office and utilise some of the wasted space? TYIA

Since there is no set-in-stone answer when it comes to office layouts, a hybrid-based office should be preferably flexible, with desks that can be moved and reconfigured as needed. Namely, it would be ideal to have two separate sets of desks - one for in-office employees and another for remote employees. This gives each group more space to work comfortably while still being close enough to collaborate if needed.
When arranging the desks, they should be placed in small clusters with sufficient space between each one to reduce contact between individuals. Additionally, it is important to remember that each employee should have adequate space so they can work comfortably, regardless of whether they are in the office or at home.
